**Note: I am assuming since the World Cup final was this past Sunday, majority of you have seen and/or know the final score/winner/etc., but just in case you haven't, here's your little warning that this post includes spoilers!

I am by no means anywhere near a sports fanatic or even athletically gifted, but football, particularly the World Cup, I seem to always have an interest in. Most likely because of my upbringing, surrounded by a football-loving family, (or maybe it's just the players...*day dreams*), but whatever the case, football seems to be really the only sport I even-kind-of understand, and the World Cup just seems so magical to me, the way the entire world can come together to play the game. It makes me think that this is how we should settle our differences--a few penalty kicks, not war! But I digress...

As you can clearly see, I am a Germany girl, 100% due to being raised that way as well as my largely German background. I felt like going all out this past Sunday in support of my team, all the way down to the German flag coloured ribbons and makeup and...we won! I won't owe it entirely to my ensemble, but it made the experience extra rewarding knowing that I could spend the rest of my day (and go to class) all dressed up in honour of our team's win. Let me just say how truly sad it is to see how poorly people react to their team losing. It is just a game after all!

My Pikachu that I've had since my 5th birthday (he will be 15 this year!) matched perfectly for the occasion so I figured he'd better make a guest appearance, wouldn't you agree? And of course, it wouldn't be me unless I found some way to throw pink into the mix--thanks to my dad for finding this perfect T-shirt for me! Now all I need is to get my hands on a Manuel Neuer jersey... ♡

Birthday Wishlist

Hello, everyone! Okay, so my birthday isn't technically until August 6th (along with my one year blogiversary on the 9th of the same month!), but having a summer birthday has always made me associate summer break with my birthday, so I get excited very early on. Not to mention I really have nothing to do at the moment, so I am always online window-shopping. These are some pieces that I've fallen in love with in the past couple of months, and in an ideal world, would want to open up on my birthday! Of course, I would never expect to actually get any of these, as I've sort of already gotten a very big early birthday gift from my parents... which I will share when the time comes!! But for now, a girl can dream!!!

  1. ModCloth Best Birthday Ever Dress - Size 8 (UK) - $86.99
  2. American Apparel Rayon Button Up Long Skirt in 1/4 Polka Dots on Navy - Size S - $84.00
  3. Swedish Hasbeen Braided Sky High in Silver - Size 38 - $234.99
  4. ASOS Skater Skirt in Scuba With Sheer Panel - Size S - $60.97
  5. Predictions Women's Saddle Oxford - Size 7.5 - $29.99

These are just a few of the many drool-worthy items I will see throughout my summer break I am sure, but for the moment these are my favourites!! Maybe there will be a part two to this wishlist before the big day!

What's on your wishlist this summer? Do any of you also have a summer birthday? Let me know in the comments!!

Stay sweet ♡

It's hard to believe that it's not even summer yet (21 June, everyone, mark your calendars!), considering how hot it's been lately. And yet, nothing can really stop me from wearing layers and socks, just because sometimes they really complete an outfit. That's how I felt today wearing probably my favourite outfit of my "summer" break thus far. I seem to get a lot of wear out of this dress, but I just love it so much I can't help but find new ways to wear it. The collar-peaking-out look has to be one of my favourites of all time. Perhaps that's due to my obsession with the 1960s English schoolgirl aesthetic (aka every outfit in An Education!). Whatever it is, it really urges me to want more collared blouses in my wardrobe, whether to wear under dresses like this or under a jumper when I'm back in the city and it's a bit more brisk outside. Anyway, I'm babbling...

I will be going to Kauai for a weekend getaway this Saturday, so hopefully I will have some photos to share from my time! How are you planning on spending the first official day of summer?

Last night, my parents and I celebrated an early Father's Day by having dinner at a local restaurant called Prima. It is relatively new so I hadn't ever been. I was a bit hesitant after not knowing a single ingredient on the menu, but after tasting I was delightfully surprised! I'm a pretty cheap date, so these fancy restaurants aren't usually my thing, but it's always nice to have an excuse to get all dolled up--not that any other guests jumped at that opportunity. It is a bit too hot and humid here to make the effort to actually look nice when leaving the house, but I try my best.

I will now take the time to gush about my most recent ~big purchase--my Kate Spade bag!!! I've been a huge fan of Kate Spade for I-don't-even-know-how-long and have always said I would buy one of her handbags for myself and the day has finally come! When I heard about the outlet opening up on the island, I couldn't help but take a peek...and inside happened to be the most me handbag imaginable (aside from my Betsey Johnson phone bag, which I was wearing that day and every worker in the store raved about!). The colour, the scalloped edges, the size (●♡∀♡) everything about this bag was just perfect--especially the price at 40% off the discount price and additional 20% off celebrating the grand opening! You'll be seeing a lot more of this bag, but not too much, as I want to keep it for only special occasions... (primarily when I'm back in the city, it just wouldn't be safe to walk around with a designer handbag every day!)

Stay sweet & Happy Father's Day! ♡

I packed lightly for the first time in my life (well, only considering clothing--my bag still was a few pounds over the limit for flying!) this summer break in an effort to perhaps rediscover what I have in the back of my closet here in Hawaii and really learn how to live on just a few pieces instead of my entire wardrobe, which I left in California. It's been a bit of a struggle, but fun all the same, as there are some great pieces in there I've completely forgotten about--like this beautiful skirt I thrifted two summers ago with the cutest ladylike pattern. I felt incredibly posh wearing it!

This past Saturday was my darling Rachael's high school graduation, so I decided to get all dolled up for the occasion. I'm trying to find more excuses to really dress myself up over summer, as that tends to brighten my mood for the day, and I am not usually very chipper during summer holiday home (due to many factors, primarily my long distance relationship and the humidity!). Thankfully, I've already noticed the weeks seem to be flying by unlike last year. I think the difference is having many things planned to look forward to spread all over the break. Hopefully I won't run out of outfits for those events!

Coral Conundrum

Well, hello there! It's been a little bit since I've posted. The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy what with finals, moving everything out of my room to my parents' condo in Sacramento, and finally flying back to Hawaii for the summer. Thankfully things have finally calmed down and I am left with some very lazy days! Today, I decided to get out of the (incredibly warm) house and hit the mall (and the cinema for Godzilla!) with my old chum/mega babe Shannon (you can find her on Tumblr and Instagram)! It was nice to actually get dolled up after nearly a week of only wearing boxers and a T-shirt--and Shannon and I just so happened to match perfectly.

Shannon is wearing a playsuit from Cookies and runners by Vans
I initially wasn't going to come back here for the summer. Although Hawaii would be the ideal holiday spot for most people, I struggle finding happiness here anymore after the things I've gone through and having to be in a long distance relationship (6 hours behind and 6,000 miles away--eek!). Each time I come back I think I'll be able to overcome the past, but am having a lot of trouble lately. I'm hoping to get all of those sorts of things figured out so that I can move on and be happy the way I can when in San Francisco.

But other than that sad stuff, I am looking forward to many things this summer as well--like seeing Miranda Sings live this coming weekend! If you haven't heard of her I highly suggest you check her out if you check her out on YouTube, she's brilliant...if you have a sense of humour! Hope you all are doing swell, and stay warm! And of course, as always...

On Wednesdays We Wear...

Unless you are living under a rock (or an ideal world without social media), you probably have already figured out that today marks the 10th anniversary of the film Mean Girls. Of course, everyone is in an uproar because it just so happens to fall on a Wednesday and...well, if you've seen the movie you'll get the reference. I love Mean Girls as much as the next guy but I do easily get sick to death of the same quotes being spewed out every other minute and I never wanted to end up being one of those people who says "on Wednesdays we wear pink" in real life but... I felt it was appropriate for the occasion. I am cheating a bit because this outfit is from last Wednesday. Although I did wear pink today as well, it was much to hot to be wearing anything more than a T-shirt and skater skirt.

Last week was the opening and closing of my university's production of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, a piece that means a whole lot to me and I have had the great privilege to appear in twice. Overall, the show was a great success, and we were able to raise $1,358.52 for V-DAY and SFWAR. If you've never seen the show, I highly, highly recommend you do at some point. It is seriously life changing to see and/or be a part of. The subject sounds a bit... distasteful to some, but I can assure you that it'll be worth every laugh and every tear.
